During the course of the day students gather to discuss different topics from the classes they are taking together.  This is a great time to exchange ideas and to stimulate new thoughts.

It also houses special collections as part of the Academy's charter purpose: the Swedenborgiana Library, including first editions, photo-reproductions and translations of Swedenborg's works, a unique reconstruction of his library, and other rare books from the 17th and 18th centuries; an extensive collection of New Church collateral literature; and the Academy Archives, including unpublished materials pertinent to the history of the Academy, the General Church, and their forerunners.

A student I.D. card is required for checking out all material.

Bryn Athyn Cathedral

The Bryn Athyn Cathedral is recognized as one of North America's significant achievements in modern religious architecture. Under the direction of Raymond Pitcairn (1885-1966), the form of the completely hand-crafted building evolved continuously over a period of several decades, beginning in 1913. Its design relied more on the vision of its builders and the individual contributions of its craftsmen than on predetermined plans.

Today, the Cathedral serves as a center of worship for the religion worldwide, including the local Bryn Athyn Church community. Its tranquil and beautifully maintained grounds provide a regal and serene setting where students are welcome. Theological students often volunteer or at times are employed at the Cathedral in a variety of functions. Some students during their final year of studies are given the opportunity to read lessons for the Sunday services, gaining valuable experience in the process.
